Bachelor of Music (Hons) in Professional Music - MP&T Major

The Bachelor of Music (Hons) in Professional Music is an undergraduate degree programme and, the first of its kind to be offered in the country which was wholly designed and developed by ICOM. This three-year (3) degree programme is conducted fully at ICOM.

The Music Production & Technology major is designed to prepare students to meet the current industry standards in professional music production. The coursework is rigorous and challenges students to be both independently apt in realising project outcomes as well as being able to contribute ideas, knowledge and skills while working in a group or team. It also acts as a catalyst for continued learning at graduate and postgraduate level and enables students to adapt quickly and efficiently to a profession that is filled with change and challenge.

Students who successfully complete this programme can look forward to securing rewarding careers in the professional music industry, such as an audio engineer, producer, postproduction mixer, sound designer, concert sound engineer etc amongst others.

The MP&T stream is a perfect blend of theory and practice where students get to perfect their skills by completing recording projects typical of those found in the professional recording and production environments. This will equip you with sufficient knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering methodology and creative production techniques to adapt effectively to the constantly evolving world of modern music production.
