Bachelor of Music (Hons) in Professional Music

This comprehensive music degree is designed to produce graduates to meet music industry demands. You will learn from qualified faculty, engage with peers from 20 countries and have hands-on experience on latest equipment. Upon completion, you will receive a UK degree, recognised internationally.

What You Would Study

In music performance, you will develop proficiency in voice/instrument, lead a band for professional gigs, study improvisation and stage your own recital.

In music writing, you will learn song composition for albums, scoring techniques for visuals, small and large ensembles and full orchestra, and also jingle production.

In music production, you will develop skills to apply sound design using DAWs, set-up and record live concerts, and record, mix & produce commercial studio works.

In music business, you will learn management and entrepreneurship, along with music publishing and entertainment law to manage artists, events and turn-key projects independently.

Entry Requirement

  • Malaysian students: Minimum 5 SPM credits, with pass in Bahasa Melayu and History.
  • International students:
    • Minimum IGCSE or High school completion equivalent to O-level, with minimum 5 credits.
    • English language competency certificates such as IELTS 5.0/ TOEFL iBT (42) / Cambridge English Qualifications and Test (154) / Pearson Test of English (47) / MUET (Band 3).
  • Students must complete the one-year Foundation in Music (FIM) program with minimum CGPA of 2.30/4.00.
  • Students with a diploma in music may consult our admissions counselors to inquire on credit exemption options.
